New Horizons is a small mental health support charity that has been running for over 30 years in the South Wales valleys. We offer a ‘Recovery College’, peer support, outdoor activities and online services for people with mental health challenges in RCT, Merthyr and Bridgend county boroughs.
This a fixed-term contract until October 2022.
Aim of the post
To help increase the levels of confidence, skills and experience of fundraising volunteers with New Horizons (NH) to raise funds for the charity.
To develop the NH fundraising service to broaden and diversify the people who get involved and in its long-term sustainability.
Supporting volunteers, giving training on digital technology and fundraising.
Communicate the need -for and the support given to fundraising volunteers at New Horizons Mental Health.
Promoting fundraising for New Horizons effectively across all our communication channels.
Engaging with prospective volunteers to offer support and training.
Welcoming volunteers and potential volunteers to New Horizons; co-designing and facilitating their fundraising efforts.
Coordinating fundraising efforts so that peer support and shared activities make fundraising more effective, more fun and more efficient.
Evaluating the fundraising and the training and support given.
Developing a resource-pack for volunteers for New Horizons fundraisers.
To build a database of supporters and fundraisers that New Horizons can call upon to raise money for delivery of our services.
To promote the efforts of fundraisers and thank them for their time and work in enabling our service to operate.
The Volunteer Fundraiser Co-ordinator will be supported, supervised and mentored by a member of the NH team and ensure that our fundraisers do not feel isolated or unable to raise the funds for NH. The post holder will help volunteers feel confident and competent to achieve their fundraising goals.
